Les Assises de la Sécurité 2024 focuses on dealing with cyber risks together
With the exponential evolution of the number of cyber-attacks, with nearly one attack every eleven seconds worldwide (Cybersecurity ventures), cybersecurity has become a major issue for all companies and organizations. However, in a context of hyperdigitalisation, the boundaries of the security perimeter of information systems are blurrier and porous. No one can now claim to be isolated and protected from any malicious infiltration, data leakage or major compromise. Collaboration between cybersecurity stakeholders and organizations, both private and public, is of paramount importance today.
This edition of the Assises de la Sécurité (Monaco) emphasizes the importance of cybersecurity awareness. Indeed, the success of training and raising awareness of cybersecurity issues is a joint effort. Every person, entity or organization is a link in everyone’s cybersecurity. Thus, an individual with the entire cybersecurity arsenal remains vulnerable when only one of his connections (colleague, supplier, etc.) is not fully protected.
REX of the Paris 2024 Olympics cybersecurity at the Assises de la Sécurité (Monaco)
The Assises de la Sécurité (Monaco) 2024 will take place in a perfect time, only a few weeks after the worwilde most-watched sport event taking place in France this year. Indeed, summer 2024 is a major milestone for French and global cybersecurity, with the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. As a reminder, the last Tokyo 2020 Olympics saw the number of security events explode, reaching 4.4 billion, 20 times more than a decade earlier at the London Olympics. If cybersecurity is such a concern, it is partly because major events bear high stakes in terms of cybersecurity: a huge number of networks, applications, data, environments and terminals to manage and secure. This event also impacts all sectors: telecoms and media of course, but also energy, transport, logistics, hospitality, not to mention public safety.
The organizations directly involved in the event are prime targets to hinder the smooth running of the competition, or even to deteriorate the image of the French authorities or government at the same time. All companies are more vulnerable to phishing attacks given the ease for cybercriminals to adapt their message to this news. For example, it will be quite common to receive malicious emails offering ticket sales for Paris 2024, trips with significant discount, or even suggesting that the recipient won a lucky draw to win VIP passes.
This edition of the Assises de la Sécurité (Monaco) 2024 will be a key moment for cybersecurity decision makers to share feedbacks and return on experience.
